The left photograph is an image of the slice cross section of brain provided by MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). The patient enters the big hole as shown in the cartoon below when the person is examined with a machine of the MRI. The patient is me.

The photographing is performed in the form that peeps a head from the feet, and the photograph is made with the form.
In other words the top of the photograph is the front of the face, and the bottom is back, and the left side of the photograph is the right of a patient, and the right side of the photograph becomes the left side of a patient.

Let’s see the period until a brain is made from the phase of fertilization.

A frame expresses viviparous (activity in the womb) one day. Since there is the animation of 13 frames, the last picture expresses a state of the thirteenth day. It seems that the inner cell mass which appears in the sixth frame is considered to be a source of all the tissues of the heart, a lung, a brain, etc.

One tube is made from this small space. This tube becomes the brain and the spinal cord.

A tube is made from the surrounding membrane on the viviparous 15th day.

     

When we look in a cross section, the surrounding membrane drops below in a picture above, and the tube called the neural tube like a picture below.

The neural tube swells and changes into the brain.

The base of brain is made before the heart moves.

On the viviparous 21st day, the original form of brain is made.
After that, the primitive heart begins pulsation.

Form: Changes little by little till 1〜2 months after birth.

The number of brain cells: Increases till 1〜2 months after birth, and does not increase after it.

The neuron number of the cerebrum: About 14 billion pieces.

Brain weight of the newborn infant at the time of birth: About 400g Brain weight of the adult : 1200 〜1400g

The reason the brain becomes heavy: It is for the brain cell itself to become large and for the networks between cells to increase in number.
The number of brain cells does not change.

Yellow expresses frontal lobe and red for parietal lobe, green for temporal lobe, blue for occipital lobe, purple for a cerebellum, and orange expresses the brain stem.

The body movement territory of the left brain controls the movement such as the right hands and feet and face.
The body sensory territory of the left brain controls senses such as pains felt with right hands and feet and face, etc.

The motor speech territory controls speaking literally.

Sensory speech territory is a place to understand that another person speaks.

Since there are many right-handed persons among Japanese people, the brain seen from the left is drawn.

Is it true that the place related to language is in the left brain or in the right brain by the difference of a dominant hand?

Generally speaking, it is true although we cannot say strictly that a dominant hand is decided by what kind of standard. In 99% of right-handed humans, the place which understands that he talks and that people talk is in the left brain. It is in the right brain in 50% of left-handed humans.
