Tennis elbow

There are two ways in the stroke of tennis, they are forehand and backhand.

It occurs in the backhand stroke.

The pain of an elbow which occurs in the forehand stroke is inside, but it seems to be seldom.

¡Backhand stroke¡

The muscle shown in red adheres to the outside of an elbow. It is the muscle which lengthens a wrist.
A wrist is put back in the backhand stroke. (Medically it lengthens.) As the animation of the lower left, the muscle adheres to the outside of an elbow is used. When used too much, it becomes lateral epicondyle of humerus inflammation.

This part becomes painful.

It becomes painful mainly inside of an elbow in the baseball elbow, doesn’t it?
It is because an inside tendon and ligament are lengthened and a wrist is bent on baseball in many cases. ( The muscle which bends a wrist is inside.)

Let’s try to stroke high balls and low balls with the same style as much as possible.

When stroking the ball of the height of the waist


The way of stroke which hurts inside of an elbow.

When stroking the ball higher than the waist


When stroking the high ball, a wrist is strongly twisted inside
It hurts a wrist, and it will become painful inside of an elbow like the baseball elbow.
